Paying the cost to be a King

Getting the best results never comes easy. Hard work always plays a big role when it comes to being successful. I've experienced this first hand as I was promoted at my job. I was so happy I could dip in the swimming pool naked. I knew that I had to work hard to make an impression to my bosses and reassure them that they have made the correct decision.

Then came week 2 of my promotion, the 1st mistake I've  made since working for the company. I was crushed and confused and was ready to call a meeting with my manager to tell her that I cannot do it. To make things worst, my bosses called me to a meeting super early before I could tell them I want to quit the position. I had an earful of that mistake but didn't have the heart to tell them I can't do it because I wasn't going to be the failure. That was the first time I ever cried at work, and hopefully my last.

What I've learnt from that experience is that, nothing ever comes easy. there's always a price to pay. I'm slowly warming into my new position. I don't regret the tears I have shed because I think they made me a better person. I still love my job and am happy with the new responsibilities. It's taking up less of my time that when I first started, meaning I'm getting used to it. I'm slowly finding my feet and will get there.

Sometimes you need to be willing to go the extra mile and push yourself, to see what lies at the end of your comfort zone... Until next time, take care.
